Web 2.0 is an evolution over the read only web 1.0. It consists of many pieces such as web logs, wikis, social bookmarking web sites, social networking and social media web site. These sites allows larger user interaction and encourage user generated content.

The use of these websites is also a major sink hole of time for its users. Here one person who got hired for IBM explains how she used web 2.0 technology to improve her chances in getting hired at IBM.

Gigapixel Pictures

There are new ways of creating digital pictures. Especially high resolution panoramic pictures. Here is an example of Gigapan system.
The GigapanSM system was developed by Carnegie Mellon University in collaboration with NASA Ames Intelligent Robotics Group, with support from Google.

The picture below shows the panoramic view of Golden Temple in India. Use the controls shown by the arrows on the picture to zoom and pan the image.
